Here's a little bit about this blog in the author's own words:

"I began traveling and teaching online in 2009 and decided to keep a blog as a creative side project. I keep my anthropology students in mind mainly as I post, as well as my friends and family. I teach several online classes for a Dona Ana Community College in southern New Mexico. I taught in person for five years before moving to the online forum. I hoped the blog would provide a place for my reflections and unofficial accounts, plus become a record of the places I visited, volunteered at, and the people I met along the way. I have maintained it from Peru, Bolivia, the American Southwest, and, most recently, Egypt (I left when the revolution began). I had hoped that a blog would humanize the online classroom and make me more accessible to the students I never meet face to face. Maybe a few of my accounts, and the links within each post, will be of interest to other educators and their students."
